Teaching is very important to me. Currently, I teach sociology at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Below is a description of my experiences teaching in various settings.
I was a teaching assistant and instructor at SUNY Binghamton and an adjunct instructor at Syracuse University. Since moving to Pennsylvania, I’ve taught at Delaware County Community College and Kutztown University. I have also been a visiting summer lecturer at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, and the University of Gondar in Ethiopia. I am a recipient of the ASA’s Political Economy of the World-System Section‘s teaching award. I also received the inaugural teaching award from the Community and Urban Sociology Section. Lastly, I previously served as an ASA TRAILS area editor.
Prior to becoming a professor, I was briefly a part-time assistant wrestling coach at Irvine High School in California and a tutor for the Humanities Out There program while an undergraduate at U.C. Irvine.
